OK, so howabout I start a discussion about how important it is to read and what it brings to a person's life. I am a single black female and let's just say I am middle aged. I have been reading novels since I was about 12, or 13. My mother was a romance novel reader. I think reading has helped me in knowing the definitions of many words not used in daily conversation. I don't remember when I expanded my reading to Stephen King novels, but I also like suspense. Even if the novel is fiction, you will stay in the loop on many things like relationships, children, homosexuality, politics, cooking, weight control, and many many other issues. I appreciated being able to spell and pronounce words correctly. One of the most important things I have been able to do is hold a conversation with just about anyone and not be intimidated by not having a degree. One of my professions is being a motivational speaker. Motivating and educating people in acceptance, going forward, not settling for anything handed to you is something to look forward to in the new year . For the first time in 30 something years, I am about to be free again. I will not have the youth, but I will have the intelligence to plan the rest of my life and have expecations for me to live in a quality, positive environment dedicated not to the children or husband but to me. One of my goals for the new year is to attend a book club social event. I think this will be informative and fun. Thanks to you for facilitating this for us in the Southern Sector.
